TURKEY - Angels Garden

Set in the pine-swathed hills at the heart of the Olympos National Park in southern Turkey, Angels Gardens is the perfect location for a yoga holiday. You can expect the warmest of welcomes and the friendliest hospitality at this charming family-run retreat, where everything will be done to make sure you’re well looked after during your stay.

Mountains, forests, ancient ruins and the glass-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea provide an unforgettable backdrop and guarantee you’ll find total peace and seclusion amid the breathtaking natural beauty of its surroundings.

The accommodation is in comfortable en-suite air-conditioned chalets and cabins, which lie discreetly around picturesque gardens filled with flowering plants and fruit trees.

Delicious vegetarian food is prepared from fresh, locally sourced produce (organic where possible) by local people to ensure the authentic flavours of traditional Turkish home-cooking.

You can enjoy the mountain views while taking refreshments by the pool or pamper yourself at the real Turkish hammam, a magnificent marble steam room which is complimentary for guests. An impressive range of massage and spa treatments are also available for a little extra.

Itinerary:

Arrive on the Sunday.
1st yoga class Monday morning.

Daily classes:
Morning 2 hours then breakfast.
Evening 2 hours followed by supper.

After breakfast the day is yours to either relax by the pool or sit in the shade under the olive trees. There are various trips which can be taken and these are optional.
Olympos and Adrassan beaches are only 10 minutes away and the family are happy to drive you there.
Take advantage of the Hammam to relax in or have a massage treatment.
In the evening you can sit around the open fire and look at the stars.

Local Attractions:
Olympos has a beautiful beach with Greek ruins which you can explore and there are cafes and shops for you to browse around.
Adrassan has a sandy beach with nearby river cafes which look delightful at night when they are lit up.
Phaesillis: This is an ancient Greek port with ruins that are impressive with a brilliant example of an amphitheatre and a Greek high street, with Greek baths and some beautiful mosaics.
There are small bays in which you can swim and the sea is extremely warm and clear.
Boat trip: The highlight of the week for many is the boat trip.
You catch the boat at Olympos and you are taken out for the day.
The boat will anchor in small bays in which you can swim and it is a chance to go to places which are otherwise inaccessible.
Your lunch is cooked for you on the boat.
It is a superb way to spend the day.
Fire mountain: The Chimera [or fire mountain] is well worth checking out. It is a mountain with its own natural gas! You can make your own fire and apparently this is where the original Olympic torch was lit in ancient times.
Kumluca market: Friday is market day at nearby Kumluca where local produce is brought to town. If you would like to experience an authentic Turkish market and buy some delicious produce to take home then this is the place to go. You can buy wonderful dried fruits and nuts as well as baclava to eat. This is a popular trip with many of the students.

'This year for the first time, Brenda took us to Commonwork Farm in Kent.  It is in a beautiful location near some of the prettiest villages in Kent. Brenda centred her teaching around Light On Yoga and it really was truly enlightening to do poses without props and to follow the sequencing in the book. All meals were vegetarian and beautifully cooked in the farm kitchen by Merlyn Hobdell, Brenda's son.  I look forward to many more weekends at Brenda's workshops' MM

"Brenda thank you so much for a lovely weekend and please thank the chef for the great food." Amanda

"Thanks for a brilliant weekend." Kathy

"The weekend was a great experience in terms of surroundings, food and people. My body felt good for days afterwards. It was a spiritual experience as well.
Thank you" Geraldine
